The book, "Epilepsy: The Intersection of Neurosciences, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering and Physics," containing proceedings from the Sanibel Symposium (Nocturnal Frontal Lobe Epilepsy: An Interdisciplinary Perspective) and the Fourth International Workshop on Seizure Prediction was released in May 2011 by CRC Press/Taylor & Francis Group.

The Sanibel Symposium focused attention on nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy (NFLE) a rare syndrome which is at the intersection of epileptology, chronobiology and molecular genetics and which presents fertile ground for multi-disciplinary interaction. The symposium attempted to provide an integrative perspective and stimulate research to benefit patients and advance the fields that converge on this syndrome.

With support from the Office of Rare Diseases Research of the National Institutes of Health and the Alliance for Epilepsy Research this symposium was held at Casa Ybel Resort in Sanibel Island on the west coast of Florida on Thursday and Friday, February 11-12, 2010.
