The Sanibel Symposium
focused attention on nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy (NFLE) a rare
syndrome which is at the intersection of epileptology, chronobiology
and molecular genetics and which presents fertile ground for
multi-disciplinary interaction. The symposium attempted to provide an
integrative perspective and stimulate research to benefit patients
and advance the fields that converge on this syndrome.
With support from the Office of Rare Diseases
Research of the National Institutes of Health and the Alliance for
Epilepsy Research this symposium was held at Casa Ybel Resort in
Sanibel Island on the west coast of Florida on Thursday and Friday,
February 11-12, 2010.
